How to Prepare for The Districts LandRush

The countdown is on! As the highly anticipated Districts LandRush approaches, now is the time to secure your spot in this open-source virtual world modeled after Earth. Built on the innovative Realio Network, Districts leverages Native $RIO—the essential gas and utility token powering transactions and dApps.

Follow the guide below to ensure you're ready for launch day!

Quick Note: When the LandRush begins, the bridge will be live within the Districts Platform, allowing you to connect your MetaMask or other Web3 wallet directly to the Districts platform. Initially, the $RIO and $DSTRX bridge will support transfers between Native (Realio Network), Ethereum (ERC-20), and BNB Chain (BEP-20), making it easier to move assets seamlessly between these networks.

What You Need:

To claim a Land Pixel, you’ll need:

✅ 5,000 Native $RIO (plus gas fees)

✅ EVM-Compatible Web3 Wallet to connect to Districts (e.g., MetaMask)

Step 0: Determine Your Starting Point

Do you already have 5,000 Native $RIO?

Do you have 5,000 $RIO on a non-native network (e.g., Ethereum, BNB, Stellar)?

Do you not have any $RIO?

  • You’ll need to get $RIO first (Step 1), then bridge it to the Native Realio Network (Step 2).

Step 1: Acquire $RIO Tokens

Choose the method that works best for you:

  1. Get $RIO on a Major Exchange.
    1. Available on KuCoin and MEXC
  2. Use a Decentralized Exchange (DEX).
    1. If you have a Web3 wallet like MetaMask, you can get swap ETH or BNB for $RIO on a DEX (e.g., Uniswap, PancakeSwap).

For a full list of examples of where to get $RIO, click here.

Once you have non-native $RIO in your external wallet (e.g., KuCoin, MEXC, MetaMask), you’ll need to send it to your Realio Platform wallet to use the bridge and convert it into Native $RIO. The next section will walk you through the bridging process.

Step 2: Bridge to Native $RIO on the Realio Platform

If your $RIO is currently on a non-native network (e.g., Ethereum, BNB, Stellar), you’ll need to bridge it onto the Native Realio Network:

1. Send Non-Native $RIO to Your Realio Platform Wallet

  • For a guide on how to send tokens to your Realio Platform Wallet, click here.

💡Always do a small test transaction first to ensure the transfer goes through correctly.

2. Use the Cross-Chain Swap feature in your Realio Wallet to Bridge to Native $RIO

Step 3: Add Realio Network to Your Web3 Wallet & Send Native $RIO

The Realio Network is a Layer-1 blockchain built with the Cosmos SDK and has full EVM compatibility.

IMPORTANT:

On the Realio Network, every account has two address formats—an “EVM Address” (starts with 0x) and a “Native Realio Network Address” (starts with realio1).

Both formats belong to the same account (they share the same mnemonic/seed phrase), but each format is used for different parts of the Realio Network:

  • Native Address (realio1...) – How your Realio account is displayed on the Cosmos side of the chain
    • Examples: Realio Platform Native wallet address or other Cosmos-compatible wallets such as Keplr Wallet.
  • Realio EVM Address (0x...) – How your Realio account is displayed in EVM wallets
    • Examples: MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet

Even when you transfer tokens from a Native (realio1) address to an EVM (0x) address, the transaction occurs entirely on the Realio Network. It’s just two ways of viewing the same account on different layers.

1. Add the Realio Network to Your Web3 Wallet

  • To view and manage Native $RIO in any EVM-compatible Web3 wallet, you need to add the Realio Network as a custom network.
    • For a guide on how to add the Realio Network to MetaMask Wallet, click here.

💡For instructions on adding custom networks to other EVM-compatible wallets, refer to their official guides.

2. Send Native $RIO to Your Web3 Wallet

  • From the Realio Platform Wallet (or other wallet holding your Native $RIO), send to your 0x... Web3 wallet address.
    • For a guide on how to send tokens from your Realio Platform Wallet, click here.

💡Always do a small test transaction first to make sure the transfer goes through correctly.

3. Confirm Your $RIO Balance

  • Once the transaction is confirmed, ensure your EVM wallet is connected to the Realio Network, and your wallet should display your Native $RIO balance.

💡 Reminder: This is the same Native $RIO that exists on the Realio Chain, now accessible via your EVM address for interacting with the EVM layer.

By following these steps, you'll be fully prepared for the Districts’ LandRush and ready to claim your spot! 🚀

Participants in the Districts community should not claim Land Pixels or hold them as investments, and should not assume they will appreciate in value or retain value. The ability to resell Land Pixels on the Marketplace depends on the interest and enthusiasm of other community members. You may be unable to sell Land Pixels on the Marketplace, and if you can do so the price you are offered for them may be significantly less than your original purchase price. While reclaiming Land Pixels will provide an opportunity to sell your Land Pixels to the Land Bank, the price paid will be based on a numerical formula and the amount of assets available in the Land Bank, which could be significantly less than you paid and could be negligible. While purchasers in the Marketplace may place a premium on Land Pixels that correspond certain addresses or locations, Land Bank repurchases will be based on the number of Land Pixels held as a fraction of total outstanding Land Pixels, without assigning value based on location.
